It's been a few years now from I've been on this site, I had to take a bit of a break for a few years, and to be honest and truthful I didn't miss not playing bowls as I filled my time doing other things.
I played a couple of games for Divis in the last 2 years when they were stuck, I must say that I absolutely enjoyed it a great bunch of people but I didn't enjoy some of the Greens in the NIBA, And I still struggle to play Saturday bowls.
So it is back to Cliftonville and the PGL and most importantly back to playing midweek bowls.
So good luck to all and have a good season.
Ps. Tom McIlvenna Lord have mercy on him will be turning over in his grave, at what you allowed to take place to his beloved PGL and I'm not even sure if it now runs throughout all the associations,
You know what is coming now
Women playing with the men in the PGL leagues, Cup's and competitions, what have you done?
Well if you ask me personally it is long overdue this should have happened 10 years ago.
I think I was the first PGL club representative to raise this issue and ask for the ladies to be allowed to play even at midweek bowls.
I thought I was going to get lynched at that meeting I thought that I had put up a good and legitimate argument for ladies but there was no seconder and it was thru out.
I was told that if you let them play Wednesday night before you know it the next thing is they will want to play Saturday bowls, absolutely not they wouldn't here tell of it.
Well I am delighted to hear that ladies can now play without any form of restriction this will certainly be beneficial to many clubs that are struggling.
