Could all clubs pleased be advised to install a pigeon loft at there greens as this will most likely be the chosen means of communication 😊 if a webmaster is not found . Don't jump up and down , settle children, only joking . The pgl site is just fantastic for those who play in the pgl to keep up with all aspects of their sport in a modern, speedy, informative way . Hard to believe we're heading into the new season without this conduit of information in full flow . Come on all you computer buffs out there, lend a hand and step up to keep stupid old fools like myself informed about our game. Have a good season all and remember to pick the dummies off the green from last year .

Brian, did you not know, Sept-Apr is the hibernation time for the pgl keyboard warriors...
And even then the thought of work... Just gone a step too far.
Cries of 'we have our own lives, no time for that, etc...' I've heard them say. Never knew robots ran the game as it is.
Or maybe it's the energy used to take the masters of shortmat and stadium bowls to task, from afar of course, that prevents potential volunteers from doing something that help enrich the online presence of our game.
If the game and it's participants behaved more like a community instead of throwing sticks and stones from the sidelines we would probably see some green shoots of recovery and growth.
Too much to hope for?

Damien, as the administrator for the forum I normally restrict my role to uploading information but I just want to make further comment on what you say regarding the role of webmaster. Players have become all to use to getting results for the leagues uploaded within 24 hours, for competition entries to be updated within minutes of each round being completed and that is how it should be in an ideal world. That information has been looked after by a very small band of volunteers over the past couple of years, primarily David McCloy, Brian Leonard and myself. The long and short of it is that for the most part we simply no longer have the time available to make that commitment (Brian is no longer a member of the GP committee) which is why the GP committee has created the position of Webmaster and has asked for help from the members and players of the PGL Clubs. I appreciate it is 'closed season' but I would implore anyone that has some computer knowledge and is spreadsheet/website savvy that is willing to help to please get in touch either via this forum or to David McCloy or Michael Nutt. As has been stated previously - in the event that no webmaster can be found it may result in delays.

Mark, my comments are certainly not directed at those such as yourself who have put great effort into providing information to the masses, more a the finger pointers at the side who behave like a Monty Python sketch, but won't actually take a turn doing what needs some
Anyway... Good luck with your endeavours!

Damien, I know you were not directing your comments at myself or anyone else. I am merely making the point that unfortunately due to other commitments those of us who have been looking after it cant do so any more and all we ask is that those who might be able to help can do so. I have always appreciated your feedback.
