Having read comments on the results app perhaps someone could explain the 28 day rule being overlooked for quite a few teams . I'm sure theres a simple ,logical and common sense reason .

The reason probably is so much bad weather too many games squeezed into a very short time frame.

Good man Brian for using the correct forum... I suppose there have been a few special circumstances this year that need to be considered and possibly catered for.
Do we need more days in the week?

The man who put 7 days into the week is worth listening to , think it works well . The people who put too many league and cup fixtures into our calender are a different matter. Divisions are still too large , no joined up writing between the associations, the IBA, and the ibf. Too many events pulling players away from teams, promoting cancellations. No rest days for many players due to special days moping up any available spare dates. The list goes on and on . But back to the question , either the 28 day rule is adhered to or we scrap it . There can be no exceptions, 28 working days is just over 5 weeks . Long enough to rearrange any fixture. Perhaps we could also look at the rule allowing postponement for having only 1 player away on Ireland, pgl duties . It doesn't help .

The man who put 7 days into the week is worth listening to , think it works well . Or woman 😏 Probably right that there are too many events. Is 14 games enough in a league season? Maybe, might give enough room to avoid league games on iba cup dates. It has been suggested that splitting the senior and junior cup dates has caused a little more congestion than necessary but the weather hasn't been on our side. It's rarely as black and white as this but I agree it is long enough and most events are well advertised beforehand and we usually know who is going to be attending so provisions should be possible I think if there is a genuine effort by a club to support the player then there is a case. Obviously if there are more than 1 player involved then it becomes a problem

I forgot to mention the weather... In the case of weather or other reasonable reason... It is known that clarity around the rule of pgl arranged fixtures needs to be added so that there is no ambiguity

Would you believe Brian that there have been 136 views since I replied but no one with an opinion...

The fact that a game can be postponed if a team has 1 player on representative duty but that team can still play if 4 or 5 are away on holidays is a bit farcical. It should also require in the rearranged fixture that the person whose absence caused the postponement play in the fixture. It has previously happened that a game has been rearranged due to a player on representative duty only to find when the game was played that he didn't play anyway. The idea that the home team provides 2 dates is also outdated. If the teams cannot agree a suitable date then the league should set a date.
